KOHLER® Generator Supports Oklahoma Community Featured on The Weather Channel
Kohler Power Systems partnered with The Weather Channel to donate a standby generator to Harrah United Methodist Church of Harrah, Oklahoma, as part of The Weather Channel’s premiere episode of its new series Weathering Disaster. The 80 kilowatt, three-phase KOHLER® generator and automatic transfer switch were presented to the congregation on behalf of Sam and Mary Lou George as a thank you gift for the support and aid they provided them following the George’s home being destroyed by a tornado.
Sam and Mary Lou George lost their home of 30 years in 2010 when a tornado ripped through their small community of Harrah, Oklahoma. Within moments of the tornado destroying their home, the community rallied to the Georges' side to help them cope with the loss of their home by aiding in the clean up and rebuilding process. When asked to be part of the new Weathering Disaster series, the Georges wanted to give something back to the gracious community who had helped them heal from the devastation. Kohler Power Systems stepped in to provide a permanently installed standby generator system for the George’s church, to maintain the facility as a community center during area power outages and severe weather.
